Organization at a glance

The organization of the CIMENT structure is depicted in the following figure:

Communities (CIMENT's aggregates)

CIMENT is organized into communities of researchers and engineers, which represent a wide range of scientific fields. Each community has learned to gather ressources, share expertise and build common projects related to high-performance computing. Those communities, usually group of research laboratories, are the aggregates of the CIMENT network.

As of 2013, the communities participating to CIMENT are the following:

PHYNUM (Physique Numérique/Numerical Physics):

UMR 5266, Groupes TOP, GPM2, PM : SIMAP ; UMR 5493, Ondes en milieux complexes, Théorie des systèmes mésoscopiques : LPMMC ; UMR 5588, DyFCoM : LIPhy ; UPR 11, Groupe théorique : Institut Néel ; UMR_E 9002, INAC-SP2M : Laboratoire de Simulation Atomistique

MIRAGE (Méso-Informatique Répartie pour des Applications en Géophysique et Environnement/Environemental Geophysics)

UMR 5224, LJK ; UMR 5519, LEGI ; UPR 5151, LGGE ; UMR 5564, LTHE

SCCI-OSUG (Service Commun de Calcul Intensif de l'Observatoire/Earth and Planetary Sciences)

UMS T0832, Service Commun de Calcul Intensif : OSUG ; UMR 5274, IPAG ; UMR 5275, ISTerre ; UMR 5216, SigmaPhy, GIPSA-lab

CECIC (Centre d'Expérimentation du Calcul Intensif en Chimie/Computational Chemistry)

UMR 5250, DCM ; UMR 5063, DPM ; FR 2607, ICMG ; UPR 5301, CERMAV

BioIMAGe (Biology and Health)

UMR 5525, GMCAO, MIMB, DYNACELL : TIMC-IMAG ; UMR 5553, LECA

ID (Informatique Distribuée/Distributed Computing)

UMR_I 5132, MESCAL, MOAIS : LIG

Commitees

Steering committee

The steering committee of CIMENT is composed by:

One scientific representative for each of the CIMENT communities

  • Olivier Richard (ID)
  • Wilfried Thuiller (BioIMAGe)
  • Alain Pasturel (PHYNUM)
  • Emmanuel Chaljub (SCCI/OSUG)
  • Eric Blayo (MIRAGE)
  • Anne Milet (CECIC)

One scientific representative of the CEA

  • Thierry Deutsch

One scientific representative of the INRIA

  • Olivier Richard

One scientific representative of the CIRA project

  • Laurent Desbat

One scientific representative of the MaiMoSiNE structure

  • Stéphane Labbé

The members of the CIMENT technical committee (see below)

The steering committee has an average of 3/4 meetings every year. The head of the steering committee is Emmanuel Chaljub.

Technical committee

The technical committee of CIMENT is composed by the two engineers of the CIMENT federative structure:

  • Laurence Viry (UJF, shared position between CIMENT and the MaiMoSiNE federative structure)
  • Bruno Bzeznik (UJF)

and at most one technical representative for each community represented in CIMENT.

  • Françoise Berthoud (CNRS, PHYNUM)
  • Françoise Roch (CNRS, SCCI/OSUG)
  • Alain Rivet (CNRS, CECIC)
  • Pierre Neyron (CNRS, ID)

The head of the technical committee is Bruno Bzeznik.

Engineers involved in High Performance Computing within the CIMENT communities are invited to join the CIMENT technical working group.
